Travelling to Denmark
By air
Denmark has four main international airports:- Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) There are frequently high-speed Intercity trains from the airport going directly to Odense Central Stations. For available train connections from the airport use the DSB website. For the "from" selection choose Kastrup Lufthavn, Udenrigs (Tog, Metro, Bus). For the "to" destination choose: Odense st. Round trip tickets in 2009 were 494 DKK.
- Aarhus Airport (Tirstrup) The airport is located 40 km north of Aarhus, it is only for european destinations and opens in the daytime. Buses to the train station are synchronized with flights arrivals. To come to Odense it is necessary to take the train.
- Billund Airport There are several connections from Billund to Odense. All of them include bus and train, but you can choose different routes, passing by Kolding or Vejle.
- Esbjerg Airport Take a bus and a train from Esbjerg airport to Odense. In this case the bus goes to the town centre or to Fredericia, where you can take the train to Odense.
Travelling to Odense
By train
DSB (Danske Statsbaner or Danish State Railways in English), offers rail connections between Odense and many towns and cities in Denmark and Germany.
There are three direct trains per hour from Copenhagen Central Station and Kastrup; the trip takes roughly between 90 and 120 minutes depending on the connection.
You can book a seat paying an additional 20 DKK when travelling on the Intercity trains.
Traveling in Odense
By bus
Buses from the train station to the University are 40 and 41.
City buses are for 18 DDK and you should know that it is convenient to have the exact amount ready for the driver. If you travel with an Odense city bus in connection with your train ride, the train ticket is valid for the bus too.
By car/taxi
You can hail a taxi on the street, ask in a bar/restaurant or call them, but you must know that they are much more expensive when compared to buses. During the daytime, from the train station to the University it could cost around 200 DKK.

Cycling is very popular in Denmark. Bike lanes are everywhere and in great shape. You can rent a bike at one of several bike rental companies.
